The desert circuit and trek in Morocco begin around 9:00 AM. We will pick you up in front of your hotel or riad, and travel by 4x4 from Marrakech to Ouarzazate, passing through the stunning Atlas Mountains (altitude of 2260m) and its beautiful kasbahs, including Telouat and the famous Ait Ben Haddou kasbah. Lunch will be provided on the way. Overnight stay in Ouarzazate.
The desert circuit continues through the Tizi-N-Tinirift mountains (altitude of 1710m) and the Drâa Valley, the longest river in Morocco. Lunch in M'hamid, the gateway to the Moroccan desert. Enjoy a walking tour to visit the ancient kasbah of M'hamid in the desert oasis. Overnight at the bivouac.
The adventure continues with a camel trek in the Moroccan desert to discover the nomadic lifestyle of the Moroccan Sahara. Depart in the morning on camels around 8:30 AM towards the Erg Ait Ounir dunes. Enjoy a midday break in the shade of tamaris trees, then resume the trek to Erg Ait Ounir dunes. Evening around the campfire. Overnight at the bivouac or under the stars.
After breakfast, continue the journey across the Moroccan desert towards the Erg Bertham dunes. Lunch en route and an evening around the campfire with a tasting of traditional sand bread. Overnight in a tent or under the stars.
It's time to say goodbye to our camels and resume the track in the Moroccan desert by 4x4 towards the sea of sands and the large dunes of Erg Chegaga (+/- 300m elevation), passing through the three types of Moroccan desert: Erg, Reg, and Hamada, and the Sacred Oasis. Overnight at the bivouac.
The crossing of the Moroccan desert continues towards Marrakech via a sandy track and the dry lake, Lake Iriki, before taking the paved road to Foum Zguid. Break during the journey. Arrival in Marrakech by the end of the day.
