Day 1: Marrakech – Ounila Valley – Ait Ben Haddou – Film Studios – Kalaat M'gouna – Dadès Gorges
The trip in southern Morocco starts early in the morning from Marrakech, heading towards Merzouga in a comfortable off-road vehicle. On the way to the Merzouga desert, we pass through the Ounila Valley, known for its typical Berber villages and spectacular landscapes. We take a break at Ait Ben Haddou, a well-preserved kasbah classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987, to explore its narrow streets and fortified houses. We then continue to the city of Ouarzazate where we take a lunch break. In the afternoon, we continue our southern Moroccan tour, passing through Kalaat M'gouna, known for its rose products. In the late afternoon, we arrive at the Dadès Gorges, explore the gorges, and admire the sunset. We spend the night near the Dadès Gorges, with a magnificent view of the cliffs.
Day 2: Dadès Gorges – Todra Gorges – Underground Irrigation System – Erfoud – Merzouga
The tour continues towards the Merzouga desert after enjoying the sunrise over the Dadès Gorges and having breakfast. Passing through the Todra Gorges, we explore the gorges on foot for a unique experience. Next, we stop to visit the ancient underground irrigation system (Khettara), which showcases traditional Moroccan ingenuity in water management. We continue the journey through the desert landscapes to Erfoud and then proceed to the Merzouga desert. Upon arrival in the Merzouga desert, you switch from the 4x4 to an unforgettable camel ride through the Erg Chebbi desert. Enjoy the sunset. We have a musical evening around the campfire and spend the night under the stars in a comfortable bivouac.
Day 3: Merzouga – Alnif – Draa Valley – Anti-Atlas – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
Enjoy the sunrise in the Moroccan desert before having breakfast in the bivouac. After breakfast, we continue our Moroccan desert tour back to Marrakech, passing through Alnif, known for its fossils, and the Draa Valley, known for its lush palm groves. Then, we cross the Anti-Atlas mountain range, offering panoramic views of the desert and mountain landscapes. Lunch on the road. We arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon.
