Day 1: Agadir - Erg Chegaga
We kick off our adventure from Agadir bright and early, heading towards Erg Chegaga in our trusty 4x4s. Our journey promises to be a feast for the eyes as we traverse the diverse landscapes of southern Morocco, passing through lush oases, picturesque palm groves, and authentic Berber villages. We'll make a pit stop for a delightful lunch en route. Then, the real excitement begins as we leave the asphalt behind at Foum-Zguid, opting instead for an exhilarating off-road experience along a track leading to Erg Chegaga. After crossing the dried expanse of Lake Iriqi, we'll arrive at Erg Chegaga in the afternoon. Here, you'll have ample free time to unwind and explore the surroundings. Come evening, dinner will be a magical affair under a star-studded sky, either around a crackling campfire or in the cozy confines of the bivouac's restaurant. You'll spend the night in traditional Berber tents, immersed in the tranquility of the desert.
Day 2: Erg Chegaga - Erg Chegaga
Get ready for an action-packed day filled with adventure as we embark on a camel ride through the mesmerizing Moroccan desert. Amidst the breathtaking scenery, you'll have the chance to enjoy a picnic in the heart of this majestic landscape. And that's not all – prepare to be captivated by a fascinating demonstration of the age-old tradition of sandbread preparation. As the day draws to a close, we'll return to the bivouac where you can look forward to another enchanting night under the starlit sky or within the comfort of your tent.
Day 3: Erg Chegaga - Agdz
Our desert odyssey continues, taking us through M'hamid, the southern gateway to the Moroccan desert, where we resume our journey on paved roads. Along the verdant Drâa Valley, we'll explore traditional green pottery kilns and visit the Quranic school in Tamgroute. For a glimpse into local craftsmanship, we'll also stop by a cooperative crafting traditional silver jewelry. After a refreshing lunch in Zagora, we'll head towards Agdz, where we'll spend the night.
Day 4: Agdz - Tata
Leaving behind the allure of the Drâa Valley, we venture onwards to the oasis of Tata and its charming ksours. A delightful tea break awaits us in Taznakht, renowned as the capital of Moroccan rugs. Arriving in Tata by afternoon, you'll have the opportunity to unwind and soak in the serene ambiance.
Day 5: Tata - Agadir
As our journey draws to a close, we bid farewell to the desert landscape, gradually making our way back to Agadir. En route, we'll pause to admire the breathtaking mountain vistas. Our adventure culminates with our arrival back in Agadir.
