Day 1: Agadir to Ouarzazate via Ait Ben Haddou
The Moroccan desert tour departing from Agadir begins in the morning heading towards Ouarzazate, with a lunch break in Taznakht, known for its carpets and traditional Berber craftsmanship. Then, we continue on to the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou to explore the ancient Kasbah. We arrive in Ouarzazate at the end of the day. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Ouarzazate to Todra Gorge via the Dades Valley
Our Moroccan desert tour continues towards the Todra Gorge, passing through the Skoura oasis, the Valley of Roses, and the picturesque Dades Valley. Along the way, we enjoy the beautiful rock formations and magnificent landscapes. In Boutaghrar, we take a track between Boutaghrar and Dades and have a tea break with nomads living in caves. After lunch in the Dades Gorge, we continue to the Todra Gorge for the night. Overnight at the hotel or riad.
Day 3: Todra Gorge to Merzouga, the Moroccan desert
The journey to the Moroccan desert resumes towards the dunes of Merzouga. We pass through Tinjdad to discover the "KHATARAT," the ancient irrigation system of the Atlas. Lunch break en route. Then, we continue towards Erfoud, the capital of Moroccan dates, also known for its fossils dating back 400/500 million years. We arrive in Merzouga to experience a camel trek in the Moroccan desert and watch the sunset over the Erg Chebbi dunes. Overnight in a comfortable bivouac in the middle of the desert in Merzouga. Musical evening around the fire.
Day 4: Merzouga to Agdz
We leave the Merzouga desert heading towards Agdz, passing through Rissani and Anif. Along the way, we enjoy the desert landscapes and small Berber villages. Lunch break in Nkob before joining the Drâa Valley, known for the ancient caravan trade routes. We visit the Kasbah of Tamnougalt before arriving in Agdz for the night.
Day 5: Agdz to Mhamid
The Moroccan desert tour continues from Agdz to Mhamid, the gateway to the Moroccan Sahara. On the way, we take a walk to visit the Kasbah of Oulad Othmane and also visit Chenna, the site of rock carvings in the Drâa Valley. Lunch in Zagora. The tour continues by visiting Tamgrout, the pottery capital of southern Morocco. We arrive at the gateway to the Moroccan desert at the end of the day. Overnight at the bivouac in the tranquility of the desert, enjoying an unforgettable stay.
Day 6: Mhamid to Chegaga
Our journey in the Moroccan desert resumes along an old Paris-Dakar track from Mhamid to Erg Chegaga, known for its undulating dunes. Upon arriving at Erg Chegaga, you will have time to explore the desert surroundings and enjoy sandboarding on the large dunes. Overnight in a comfortable bivouac in the middle of the desert.
Day 7: Chegaga to Agadir via Lake Iriki
Departure in the morning from Chegaga along a sandy track towards Agadir via the dried-up Lake Iriki. We pass through Forum Zguid, Taznakht, and Taliouine. We arrive in Agadir at the end of the day, with many unforgettable memories of a Moroccan desert tour.
